Hurray! I’m still deciding if I should get them this year, mostly I can go without, and just not drive if the weather is too bad, but it might be nice to be able to go skiing when it’s actually snowing without needing to go to my parents’ to steal their XC70 (though that has the advantage of having AWD). The real problem is I’m still not sure if I’m staying in Boston, I’d be annoyed at spending hundreds of dollars on new tires (and more if I get wheels) and then selling the car if I decide to go back to NYC or something.

Seems like you definitely need them though, and I think the white should look good (and maybe not show salt?).

Also while I feel like TPMS is good (and don’t like that I don’t have it, I can’t help but feel that $130 is steep for sensors...

On clearance, those Assetto Garas are only $25/ea more than steelies.... I was gonna do steelie, because oppo reasons, but those were too damn cheap to pass up.

for installed sensors, it’s not out of control... not the cheapest, but the savings on the tires and wheels more than make up for the fact I probably coulda saved $25-$40 buying the sensors elsewhere... then again I’d have to pay to have them installed... so I figure what ever. TPMS isn’t free, but it is good for keeping your tire pressures honest, and alerting you to punctures before you accidentally drive on your rim. Also, the system complains frequently if you drive on wheels without sensors..

You’re right, down in Boston you probably can survive just not driving on the bad days, if you have good all-seasons... than again winter tires always kick ass in the winter.

Thats a fantastic deal $120 a rim, and not getting nickle and dimed on the little things.
